It's an excellent centre, I used to work there and you're in very good hands. The oncologists are brilliant.
I don't think there was ever any real danger of closing the centre down as uprooting the Radiotherapy deparment alone would cost way more than leaving it as it is.
Did you ever meet Dr. Neal the head oncologist, he's treating me and he's absolutely brilliant, I've every confidence in him. ( we've done the pubs and hospitals, what else is there in Guildford )!!!
Well there's the lovely grounds of the castle and university!
I did know Dr Neal very well and as you say he's brilliant, his specialty is breast cancer and you are in some of the best possible hands. Plus he doesn't sugar coat anything and he's in my experience very honest with patients which I think can only be a good thing. Better to know what you're dealing with rather than having a load of medical terms and knowing nods that you can't make heads or tails of. I'm not suprised you have every confidence in him.
Hi all you kind girls,
I really appreciate all the good wishes from all of you.
News was not too bad, although I was expecting to go there and be told it was nothing.
I have Lobular Carcinoma Insitu which they said is quite rare.
Going into hospital for an operation in about three weeks time to remove the growth.
So, it's back to work for me on Monday until then.
Thanks again to Gelda, bigmamma China Doll and weeal. Nice to know that someone out there cares. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Awww cruella- I'd no idea about anything being wrong with you. I've no idea what a lobular thingy is, I can't even spell it never mind say it and know anything about it!
But whatever it is, My best wishes to you in 3 weeks time, you're one of the good 'uns on ere and I'll be thinking of you
Just saw this post and wanted to add my best wishes to you both.
Blimey, cruella - you don't do things by half in your family do you!?
Didin't realise you'd been having problems too. Hope your treatment goes smoothly. Take care of yourself.
Hi Cruellla. Just saw your news, I'm glad something can be done about it, if it's any consolation a friend of mine had this about six years ago, she had the tumour removed and so far it hasn't come back so I hope it's the same for you. Keep positive and the same for hubby. Gelda xxxxx

Again, girls, a big thank you. It has made a difference to both of us today.
