Strep throat

I've had tonsilitis for a few days now and only started antibiotics tonight. My tonsils have swollen up so much that they are touching and I am unable to take ibuprofen to make the swelling go down (allergies). Is there anything else I can take? I'm so hungry I could cry lol

I've tried iced water and thats not working.

Lol, I was talking to China last night and she said she had been poorly too. I'm contemplating gargling neat tcp, or some wickedly strong spirit but Im not sure its one of my best ideas to date.

Yeah, how about you poo off. I bet my right leg you drink way more than me. However, giving up smoking would probably help me not getting tonsilitis, so feel free to whinge on about that. As for drugs, I haven't had a smoke in months.

does it really sting when you try to swallow? cos you may be developing a quinzy (?) and they are quite dangerous as you will be in a lot of discomfort, ring your NHS helpline and speak to them

The spay.... Go get the spray. Ultra Chlorseptic or something. I didn't think much of it at fist but now I think it's wonderful!

Banned -dot is right... i have had a quinsy twice now and its excruiating and i was the same, i was sooo hungry but unable to swallow at all. I ended up in casualty both times as i was almost passing out with it.
its really common in people in their 20's is what i was told
