good for you, coward or not, youve told her what you think of the situation.

If she even thinks about using you again then either say:
1) youre gonna become a full time childminder and as her first customer youll charge her 12 per hour for each child

or
2) youre starting a new job next week and will be finally able to ask for a return of favour and get her to sit for your kids for the next year or so.
Well done robotics , now lets hope she's got the message .
xxxxxx
YAY! i read the thread with interest a few days ago so its great to hear thats shes finally got the message! Now you can come and sort my neighbours out for me? lol

Seriously though its great news and you should be very proud of yourself! xx
Well done robotics! Good on ya x
northeast, you say.....well, I'm stuck for someone to pick my 2 teenage sons up after they go clubbing next Friday...if you can pick them up at - say -3.30am in Birmingham City Centre (only a couple of hundred miles.....what's that between e-pals??) then drop them home in Worcestershire I'll buy you a bottle of Blue Nun, if they're sick in your motor I may even stretch to Black Tower!!

Glad you ditched the manipulative bi-a-tch!!...take care

(Oh.....and if you really ARE up for picking my kids.....never mind!!)
I am glad that you have (hopefully) got yourself sorted out. If she does not pick the kids up from school. DONT take them home with you - leave it to the school to sort out. It is a bit different if you are just doing each other a favour now and then which often happens amongst mums with kids in the same class, but this woman was basically taking a liberty - she is getting 24 worth of childcare for the odd bottle of wine.

Technically you were not breaking the law having the kids - the key part of the law is "for payment or reward" unless the reward was roughly equivalent to the cost of childcare, it would not be counted, so at the end of the day there was nothing wrong in what you were doing, other than the fact that you were being bullied into doing something that you didn't want to do.

I bet if one of your kids was being bullied, you would sort it out, it is the same here except it is you that is being bullied.

You need to say no and mean no.

Remember, if she has not made arrangements for her kids tomorrow - don't pick them up - you don't need to make any excuses. If she asks you stick to your guns - you don't need to give any reason other than the fact you don't want to. What does she do on the other days?

roboticd, that's great news, well done you :)

I am pleased you stood up for yourself, you must feel great!

Stick to it, sweetie, don't let her force you into backing down.

x
well thank goodness for that! Saves me a trip to sort her out for ya ;-)
seriously robotics, good on you for standing your ground with this woman. She might think twice before she tries to use anyone else in this way, then again......keep us posted about thursday.
Great news and well done, but what is nicer is that you have taken the time to update and thank all those that gave you help - I don't believe there is enough of that on here. It seems that too often we post our questions and sometimes never even revisit them. I was wondering how you got on. Don't collect them tomorrow, even if it means you have to go somewhere straight from school rather than going home. What did you tell her in the end?
Good on you robotics, dont back down now.
