I love picallilli but lately no matter what sort I buy it just isnt the same as it used to be :( What make picallilli do you think is the best? It has got to have all the following extremely tangy flavour thick juice proper crunchy veggies in

yeah Ive tried asda and didnt like it much cos of the sauce. I will have to give Haywards another try, the last jar I got just had pickled onions in it and no cauliflower or gherkin :(
It doesnt taste like branston cruella, its tangier and crunchier (sorry I have no idea how to explain what it tastes like lol)

Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, Asda picallili all made at same factory in Derbyshire where they also do the red and brown sauces, mincemeat, pickled onions, pickled red cabbage etc. for the big supermarkets. They don't make Co-op or M and S stuff though. I'd go for M and S myself....if I liked the stuff that is.

thanks seafarer, strange its all made at same place cos I thought sainsburys one was okay but havent done shopping there for a while to get any.
ta for the link 8ball, thats about same price as the stuff I get when I visit the garden centre, its worth paying for if its lovely and if you hide it at the back of the fridge where no one else can find it, it lasts ages :)

I make picalilli pixi, it's much better than the shop stuff. I find shop stuff often a bit too vinegary and not mustardy enough. If you cant be arsed to do it yourself at the end of the summer me dear, Ill send you a jar.
MY dad gets his from the butchers or the farm stores when he runs out. They're always nice.
