Emigrating to Australia

We are just beginning the process of Visa applications to Australia, can anyone tell me approx how much money would i need to take with me to Australia, for a family of 4 to live for six months, until work can be found? at the mo we are deciding between Adelaide or Brisbane. would it be about the same as the uk? Someone has also told us that the Australian Government require a certain amount of savings in the bank for a certain amount of time, but cannot find any info on this. Is this correct?

Hello, yes it is correct. My stepson emigrated to Oz 2 years ago. When he got there he found out a lot of info that you don't get told here, mainly that if you are found to be working within the 1st 6 months of arrival you are sent back to England on the next flight!
His father in law had to sponser him as well but don't know how much it was or any further details. His wife was fine because she is an Australian citizen.
He was very homesick at 1st, mainly due to boredom at not being able to work but now loves it and has really settled. He has a fab job, self employed working 5am while 1pm every day and makes a fortune.
