How about a sausage loaf? Just add a diced onion and a bit of sage to the sausage meat, bind with an egg, place the mix in a loaf tin and bake for approx 20 mins.
Or turn the above into meatballs.
What about a sausage plait with sausagemeat/onion/tomato puree /herbs mixture put into the puff pastry and plaited?
No answer, sorry blondytops, but can I just be nosey and ask whereabouts in Cumbria are you? You don't have to answer if you don't feel it's appropriate.
Mock game pie ..I used to make this years ago ..so it's a bit vague ..I don't have an actual recipe .. but just line a dish with pastry and you put the sausage meat in it which has been mixed with finely chopped onion and seasoned with plenty of parsely and black pepper ..You sort of layer it ..layer of sausagemeat, then thinly sliced toms and thinly sliced mushrooms ... then layer of sausage meat then make a couple of dents in the mixture with the back of a spoon and break an egg into them .. bung a pastry lid on top and bake .

Just in case any one thinks Im being rude I must dash to watch the final.xxx
firstly split the meat into 'two person portions', seal into a freezer bag, freeze until solid and hard to the touch and then post to me in the midlands..... luvly, ta very much.
mandimoo2 - cheeksome reply, but a good one.

I too live in Millom and might just have some cumberland sausage tonight just to rub it in..................Mr Bewleys Finest blend.

Blondytops definately agree with making the sausage into meat balls. I am sure Mr Jamie Oliver made some like that recently.

Other idea is bbq it and invite your local answerbanker (erm no rhyming slang ta) round.
