2 1/2 son wants to sleep w/parents

My son is 2 1/2 and gets up in the middle of the nite to sleep with us, he doesn't want to go back to his own bed. What should we do??

My dad used to welcome us into the bed and next thing u knew u woke up in ur own bed.... Let them get into ur bed during the night if they have had a bad dream....but the minute the fall back asleep....pick them up and put them back ....the seldom wake a second time... it works great.

my 2 1/2 year old gets in with us in the night.I have brought him a lovely (and expensive) mattersess topper. Now i leave him and his dad and go and get into his bed. Bliss till my 1 year old wakes up!!!!!

We loved to have our children in bed with us. His tiny face sleeping on my arm was a great feeling. I alsways cupped his little face as we slept. In fact his breathing would lull me to sleep. Nothing wrong with it. If you go to bed in an alcholic stupor then it is best avoided as you may crush him but otherwise enjoy these few years.... they dont last.

My son has now been doing this for 2 yrs and at twenty six you would think he's over it...No just kidding he's now  4 and we have to put him back at least 2 - 3 times a night, in the last 2 years I can count on both hands the amount of times he has stayed in his own bed.

There must be a few ways it has worked for people without putting up a baby gate on his door(told him this and he said it was ok because he can shout)

i used to be exactly the same when i was much younger and my parents put up with it for a while.  They eventually just told me very firmly to go back to my bed! They sent me back around 5 times that night and i never went back!  And i don't remember any of it so although it might feel like it it is no great trauma!
