I've just briefly read this article and I cannot believe it!
I never really believed the link between autism and vaccines before but you should read this before you make up your mind....

I have read before the fors and againsts for the MMR vaccine.
I think that all parents should be aware that there might be a risk but also that it is as yet an unproven link. Werent the scientists involved admitting they may have got it wrong at one point.
Its also worth noting how many unvaccinated children, who came into contact with Measles, would be likely to die or be brain damaged from the disease.
It was only the combined MMR that was queried so Im all for a parent paying for individual vaccinations if they can and want to do so.

I do agree daffy, sometimes the parent does not notice the onset of symptoms of autism until the child is in school, If the jab was linked to autism there would be a massive amount of people being diagnosed.
Although Diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder is on the up, it is more to do with people being more aware of the condition itself than the MMR

Only probalem I can see with the individual vaccine is that they can only be given 6 months apart and thus leaving your child open to harmful viruses in the meentime!
I think it's worth reading up on the full story as I am in a long list of children who were given the combined with no effect.
I think children must have a genetic 'reason' for any effect as I can't see how it would not have effected others.
It's worth reading though MiniN x

andrea, if a parent is deciding on individual jabs or none at all then 6 months wait between is better than nothing.
My son has had the MMR and so will the new arrival. My own personal opinion is that changes in behavious can be more noticable around the times of these jabs and boosters rather than connected to.

The child had an "underlying mitrochondrial disorder".....meaning,I believe,it was genetic. Hardly a reason for ALL parents to see vacines as a danger. NOT having them is more dangerous-not just for the individual child but for the whole population......it is a matter of the 'lesser evil' being the most desireable choice.
