Last year my mum gave me a slip of a beautiful soft pink fuschia. I planted it out and it did well, but looking at it today I've noticed that it has grown new leaves at the top but it is looking very bare at the bottom. It is about 3ft tall and in good soil in a sunny, but sheltered spot. Any suggestions as to what I could do to breathe new life into it? TIA

You will not get new flowers agin at the base unless you prun the plant Wait until the weather is milder say the beginning of April and prune hard You will then get new growth from the base which will flower in the summer. Also a feed with a High Nitrogen fertilizer wont do any harm

You could take a `Tip` cutting now and plant it in the same pot as it`s in now. I find I get good results this way early in the season probably because it`s near to its parent plant and is used to the soil. Ahhh... poor love.
