change stereo in xsara.

Ive just replaced the stereo in citroen xsara but the steering controls dont operate it...... Ive used the same wiring and plugs so nothing else has changed. should the steering controls still operate it?

Possibly not ,i've had Picassos,Berlingo's and C3's and they all had stereos that were specific to that car (can't even use them in other Citroens).I think it's to do with Citroens having Multiplex wiring,it was supposed to make things easier but it doesn't

no matter what car you have. Steering controls won't work on a non standard stereo
