It seems that birds are descended from avian dinosaurs, yes.
The pterodactyl that many think of as dinosaur-type birds, were in fact flying reptiles.
Oh lol, Dot! Your post hadn't shown up when I replied. Bless her, she'd not be a bad looking girl if she had the nose fixed. With all her money, you wonder why she hasn't!

That's it exactly, jo - but there were probably flying mammals as well as reptiles and birds.

i was always under the impression that mammals stay on land do they not?
No - what about bats?
