Smelly Dog

How can I prevent my dog from rolling in pooh? We know how to get rid of the stench (and boy, does she stink!), but give her 24hrs, and she's right back covered in it!. Living in the sticks, she gets plenty of freedom to roam, but we don't want to curtail this unless we really have to.

If you get an answer let me know co mine loves to roll in rabbit droppings, its like catnip to her, funny thing is that of all the dogs I've had only the bitches do this

I once read somewhere that a female dog will roll in pooh to mask her own scent, perhaps when she is about to give birth. Scent is very important to a dog, they can communicate tons of information that way, so she might be doing that. Is your dog fixed? If not, I have no other ideas for now. I had a cat that would roll in dead fish, and I never figured out how to make him stop either. I hope someone else has an idea.
