I have a small 1GB pen drive which I plug into a usb 2.0 and have a few photos on it but cannot remember how I put them on it, should have written it down and lost the packaging. Can you tell me how I did this? The other thing is when I plug the drive in does it automatily bypass the laptops hard drive and put the imformation on the disc or do I have to do something else after plugging it in. TIA Mike

frosty ... hi
you must have slept since you last took any photos ;-)
a usb stick is good for carrying photos ... but don't use it as a long term backup... all flash memory (except a couple of really expensive types have a shelf life of about 5 years....

cd/dvds on the other hand are generally good for longer.

anyhow .... to get at the drive .... plug it in ....
if you have autoplay enabled ... it will open automatically!!!(the name sort of gives it away!! ;-)

if not ... look in "my computer" and you'll see another drive letter listed double click .... and it should open just like any disc or folder

then just copy - paste ... or drag and drop the files from wherever they are to wherever you want them.

if you want to be a bit flash ;-)
have a look at this freebie from Mr William Gates .......

very handy if you are shifting a few files to different folders
BTW .... anyone wanting more storage ... have a look here

decent prices ... and free postage
Troll - thanks for that memory-stick information. I thought data would last indefinitely on them. Good to know they will not ...
