yup, youre missing out on the extra expense, extra salt and extra saturated fat...... look at it like smoking. if you aint already addicted, dont bother to get so.
I cook all week from scratch, then I go on strike at the weekend and look forward to my takeaway (kebab, Chinese, whatever) or even more so if we got out for a meal, yum. It's lovely to have someone else do the cooking when you're the one who does it all the time.
I could live without them completely because my hubby is addicted and would eat them every night of the week; as has been pointed out though, the more you eat them the more they lose that "treat" factor. I enjoy eating well and knowing what goes into my body, and for me, ideally, I would eat takeaway once a month, sadly it is usually more like once a week in our house, although I don't always partake and leave hubby to it and make something myself.
I usually have a chinese on a friday or saturday night and a dodgy doner kebab and chips after a mid week beer fuelled pool match.
Novelty factor does wear off a bit, but I do get cravings if I miss out one week!
Apart from that I'm pretty fussy about where my food comes from and love cooking proper hearty food.
If you don't feel like you're missing out, then you're not!
