Dog fighting
14 Answers
No idea what possessed me to watch it, having been warned of its contents, but I was watching Animal Cops Houston at breakfast time, and there was a dawn raid on a dog-fighting training 'facility'. It was horrible, and 63 pitbulls were removed from the premises and eventually euthanised. They showed the various equipment, paraphernalia, and worst of all, clips of a video made using undercover recording equipment.
This isn't even a question, sorry, I was just so upset that I had to ask, "What on earth possesses people to engage in this cruel and unnecessary 'sport' "? I just can't believe it still happens.

These are the sick barstewards we are defending!!!
Now I wish the utmost torture of Taliban insurgents but admit a little smile knowing that the last thing these sick Afghans saw was the face of a hideously injured dog barking at them saying "serves you right you stinking rag head"
I feel the same way about bull fighters and cheer when the Matador gets spiked.
Sick, sick, sick individuals hiding behind "culture" to justify their vile pastime.

I know how you feel leelapops,It makes my blood boil with any sort of cruelty, I cannot begin to say what I would like to happen to these people[if you can call them that] The question in my mind is WHY what's the reasoning of it all.You can read about it every day in the paper, but nothing ever seems to get done or a deterant to stop them.g
jules, yes! There are. I just can't comprehend...How is/was Crufts?
Abdul, horrible horrible horrible! If as many people were put down in the dog fighting world as the amount of dogs that need put down, then it might begin to eradicate the world of these sick people.
garner, they aren't human are they! It's just horrible. And no, there is definitely not enough done to raise awareness, and punish people involved, properly. And they even get CHILDREN involved! Oh god, it's just too much.

I watched that too Leelapops, I felt really sickened. I often watch Animal Planet, did you see the one with that poor dog with it's collar embedded in it's neck, T he things that happen to these animals are appalling but they all seem trusting with their little tails wagging. It doesn't bear thinking about.
jules, you won a B of B? :) Great! Are you Rough Collies?
gelda, I know. It actually breaks my heart. The one you are talking about was horrendous; and for the owners to plead ignorance, WELL...Some people don't deserve to live. I have seen some really awful things on Animal Cops! Not really sure why I watch it, it's real car-crash TV, can't help but look.
I am shocked at the amount of horses on the show-is that quite an American thing? And when you acquire such a large animal, wouldn't you think about the implications for its care?
I just can't come to terms with it! x
