working on the basis that the sun always rises in the east , I assumed that it would be more specific. Perhaps it is a trick question. In any case it is a disappointing crossword, worse than usual. Also the Telegraph GK is not as challenging since Mike Mepham died and Kate Mepham took over.

many of the clues in this weekly crossword appear to be taken from The Oxford Dictionary of English. For example, "past" includes the description (of a specified period of time) occurring before and leading up. to the time of speaking or writing.

Has anyone notice how the prize money for various crosswords has been decreased in recent months? The Telegraph Herculis used to be �500 once, if I remember correctly. I suppose that has something to do with less papers selling because people are reading the news online.
