whilst i was having lunch in the pub yesterday i noticed they had loads of stuff advertising the celebrations about st paddy day and then when i went shopping after i see loads if cards with happy st patricks day on them, why is it in england we seem to make a statement and celebrate it but not days like st georges day and st davids day?
That is because we are the hamster of countries. we would rather change all our traditions than make immigrants embrace british tradition.
We are the equivalent of the guy at the party who no one really talks to but he goes to great trouble making people like him, he will drop all his values and intergrity so people will like him
I always buy half a dozen St. George's Day cards for certain friends. I live in a village & can get the cards at a local shop so don't have to hunt around. I wear a lapel badge ( bought from This England magazine) & fly a little flag on my car. Why don't like-minded others do the same?
I agree, both St's need to be recognised in the same way. I'm Welsh and other than when I was in school havign to wear a Welsh costume, it's like any other day!
