It certainly wasn't anything like as bad as expected (South London), mind you I only ventured outside the house once, to put the rubbish out. On the ride in this morning there is plenty of evidence of tree damage.
SKA - It was important because 'the South' was possibly going to take the brunt ............and everything that affects the South ought to be discussed on national TV ad nauseum, after all.........
I think we're a little more hardy in t'north..........:o)
Hi SKA, you was one of the fortunate ones then. We had gusts up to 65 mph yesterday which is no fun when you have to take a little one to school in it. I think the worst affected areas are the coastal regions, particulary the south west.
monkeyes - I do agree the ppl in the south are a bunch of softies, I was planning on calling work saying I cant make it in today then I saw the sun and that excuss went out the window!!
Psychick- you could have given the kids the day of school!! I would be such a cool mum me thinks!!
so far the wind kept waking me up sun/mon night but since then its been not great but hardly a storm, its sunny here at the mo although its supposed to get bad tonight (midlands)
It was very windy down here - kept me awake and blew a few fences and trees down. It probably wasn't as bad as we were told it would be but since the "hurricane" fiasco in 1987 I think they always err on the side of caution. We did have some pretty dramatic thunder and lightening yesterday though - shook the building at work!
Come down to Plymouth...it has been blowing a gale since Sunday night.....just because it hasn't been bad where you are doesn't mean it hasn't happened!
its horrible over here, its been rainging nearly non-stop for about 3 days, its really windy, on sunday or monday had winds up to 80m/h apparently.
im donw near london by the way
The wind is howling at this very moment I can hear the garden chairs and wheelie bins making a run for it, my cats refuse to go out and the window in front of my puter is going to blow in at any minute.
