It appears that when taking pictures in dim lighting & in the evevning there are dots in the picture.

The settings have been changed but the dots still appear.

I called Sony and they have said no-one as reported this and that it is not on their database!

I had the T-30 before and I still had the same problem, could ths be a manfacture fault? What can I do?

it's what CCDs do in low light .....
it's also what your eyes do in low light.

a ccd is sensitive to more frequencies that we are .....
light causes each pixel to fire .... and if there is light the normal reaction will always outweigh any slight spotting

in darkness slight fluctuations and blips are the only things passing through .... and so are the only thing visible.

it's like a tube half full of water ... full power (vertical) means that as you walk ... the rocking motion is only minor.....
off (horizontal) even a slight movement will cause a rippls that could travel the entire length of the tube.

the only surprising thing is that the hepldesk didn't know
Lots of very small dots, all over the image? And only in low light conditions?

Sounds like you're talking about noise to me. If so, there's nothing you can do about it.

As a test, increase the ISO as high as it can go and take some low-light pictures. You should get even more of these dots. Does this happen?
