Search the marriage indexes for a marriage for them, is the simple answer. Most sites are pay-per-view but some places have them online for free. What county would they most likely have married in and I'll see what sites are available?

Ask your mum.

You could try http://www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk/ but it isn't complete so just because the marriage isn't on there doesn't mean it didn't happen.

If not there, you need to check the full marriage indexes which are on pay-per-view sites unfortunately.
was he a good father to you and a loving husband to your mum ??? what difference does it make if they didnt have a piece of paper to say they were married .
Your local library probably has the marriage indices. Or, try you local Mormon Church, they keep extensive records and will help.
