i own a property in a terraced street, the garden fence on the right hand side of the property as your standing at your door has blown down, meanwhile the other side only has a matter of time! i was going to put up a new fence on the right hand side but have been told that you always own the left hand side is this right? i dont mind paying for a fence but dont think i should pay for both sides. can anyone help xx

(brilliant name btw...lol)... unfortunately that rule is not always true... it really depends on what is in your title deeds. I also live in a terraced property and my neighbours and I *share* the ownership of each boundary wall (my left hand side neighbour and I both own the left hand side boundary wall, similarly with the right hand side)..... You need to check the information you got from your solicitor when you bought it - that should tell you who owns what and the extent of your boundary (I am assuming you have a mortgage, so you probably don't have immediate access to the deeds themself).
thanks alot for all your advice, i no longer live in the property as i rent it out when i moved in with my partner, i've had a word with the neighbours and have been told the right hand side is mine which i will now get fixed at least by having a word im not going to get stung for the other side now! hopefully anyhow fingers crossed lol
