I'm going to risk this here, coz it didn't even raise a smile in chatterbank a few days ago...- In an Indian restaurant I like a tarka- it's like tikka, only it's a little otter...........x
sandrajo, I do like to try different things, but if I am going somewhere familiar, I like old favourites! I know tht is just a big contradiction!
My partner doesn't like a lot of the foods I do, so when we are out I will get something I couldn't be bothered to make "for one" at home!
Love me chicken Dhansak and usually stick with it. It's good because although you get the same basic dish, the taste varies from restaurant to restaurant.
Tend to stick to the same chinese menu with take aways too
I love risottos as well as fish n chips, bangers and mash, curry, steak n ale pie with the gravy, chips and peas...so all of these are top of my list. I also love anything thats breaded and calamari rings!
If there are unusual items on the menu then I like to experiment.
But invariably you can not go wrong with a steak. Medium rare with seasonal vegetables and either posh chips or some form of potatoage.
I usually opt for a fishy starters of some description and end with a stodgy pudding. I can not abide the nouvelle cuisine 1cm thick slice of Mauritian tartlet with orange frissel sauce. Give me suet sponge and treacle anyday!!!!
