copying mp3 & wav files to dvd/cd
2 Answers
I have just embarked on downloading mp3's and have built up quite a collection on my pc. I have converted some to WAV (to play on cd player). As I now need to reformat my hard drive, I want to save these files. Can they be copied to dvd/cd rom for storage purposes and will they upload again alright after reformatting??

There are many programs which write ordinary audio CD's from MP3, so why not use one of these instead of converting.
I use Musicmatch, which has now been taken over by yahoo, but you can still download old versions from here http://oldversion.com/
Save them as MP3 on disc, and you will save so much more for fewer discs.

Yes, you just need to create a CD or DVD as "DATA" rather than "AUDIO".
If they are saved as data they are just ordinairy data files the same as they are on your hard disk.
As postdog says, you do not need to convert them to WAV.
If you want to create a CD to play in your CD player just select the mp3 files and use a product like Nero to create a "AUDIO" CD, and that will do the converting for you.
