I've just bought plane tickets for the first time online from easyjet
so will they send out tickets to my address or print out the details (which include) a barcode then take that with me to the airport!??
Or should/would I be easier in phoning them up and seeing whats happening?

The print-out effectively is your ticket. All of the budget airlines use 'ticketless booking'). The reference number on it, together with your passport, is all that is required when you check in. (As you've spotted, there's a bar code which speeds things up but the booking reference number - which will also be in your confirmation email - is what really matters).
