Its my grans 80th birthday next week and I haven't a clue what to get her, when I ask her she just says I don't really need anything. I would just like to get something special. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Linda you could send her to have a nails done and a bit of a pampering session , or pay to have her hair done and then take her out for a meal if shes not having a party or you could ask at your local paper if they could print an issue of the paper on her date of birth hope this helps good luck

My grannies both loved looking at old photos and talking about the past. How about making a photo scrap book for her? You could put anything you want into it, her fave photos of the family, photos of you all when you were little, even good photos she hasnt seen before. You could get family members to write a little message to make it extra special.
My nan lived to be 96 and I miss her so much, I think as she always told me spending time with her is the best present you can give, just chatting over old times family things perhaps popping in unexpectedly now and again. I think if you have a good relationship with her then you probably didnt need to be told this, as I loved popping in to have a cup of tea and a cream cake with my Nan and I shall always treasure those memories.!! I hope your Nan has a lovely day xx
Take her shopping!
What about a digital photo frame, upload old and current photos of the family on to it for her.

My husbands Grandmother I always but Sainsbury's vouchers for - 1 ones because they just give change if you give 1 x 20 one - she loves using them to buy herself treats each week like a piece of steak or a bottle of gin!!

I used to manage a sheltered housing scheme and most older people genuinely don't want 'things', they love a day out or something practical or useful much more.
A coffin.

If you can't think of anything to say which is nice and useful you shouldn't bother answering
Why does there always have to be one SICK FREAK who thinks that posting pathetic replies is funny??? You'll be needing a coffin yourself Mamjet! It's people like you this world can seriously do without!!
Christ, lighten up! Okay then - flowers.
