I have a Dell Vista comp. I installed an external floppy drive holder, as I have quite a few discs with material on.
It works fine, but I find that I cannot load any programmes from my dell comp to the floppy drive. any suggestions Coolwill.

Given that a floppy drive only holds just under 1.4Mb, and in view of the very slow data transfer rate, why on earth would you want to load a programme on to a floppy disk?
Get a USB pen drive like this:

They are smaller, faster, less prone to error, and hold MUCH more data.

Sugget you move all the files off your floopy disks onto there.

Most PCs and laptops are supplied without a floppy drive and as webdude says, there is almost no reason to use a floppy drive any more (unless you have some particular need to boot into DOS).
