Strange email

I checked my emails just 10 minutes ago, and i have two emails from Halifax building society. It says my online account has been choosen for security reviews, and I then have to enter a code which is sent in the second email. I dont know whether this real or fake, as my mum has my account in her name, and I've never used the internet for my account, so I can't see Halifax knowing my email address. Should i ignore it and email halifax and see?

I got one last week. Not only do I not use internet banking, I'm not with the Halifax.

For sure it's a fake, the lines on the Halifax logo weren't even lines up properly.

When I get an email from De Bank of Nigeria
I always forward my bank account details ...
I'm still waiting for confirmation that I have won
the $500 million lottery ...it only cost me �15k
so thought it was a good bet ...have I been

We recieved an email two days ago from the supposedly "Halifax" They said my account was overdrawn by �3.67p. and to depostit funds. Hardly worth it for that small amount anyway
I don't even bank with the Halifax.
It has to be a hoax.

No, definatly not, Mr. Wotshisbloodyname phoned me this morning, just to confirm my bank details, I expect both of us will get our �15,000 deposited into our banks on Tuesday :0)
