Unwanted mobile phone contract
I had a new phone from a mobile phone company. My contract ends in April 08. However I called in Jan 08 and specifcally asked whether if I get a new phone, does this mean I have to stay with the company. I was told I was 'not obliged to stay with 3 once the current contract ends'. Therefore had a new phone as mine was not working well. Now they say I agreed to a new contract for another 18 months, which I never agreed to. I dont wish to stay with the company as I rarely get a signal and thus not worth having a mobile if I cant use it. So they are adamant I have to pay out for the 'new' contract which is 848. Hardly fair. Any advice ?

If you have any documentation with the phone, check it and see if it states that this phone is a replacement for one that is not working properly or if it states that you have accepted a new contract
