The actress who plays her, Julie Hesmondhalgh, once bumped into me at the bar in a local theatre in Accrington (she was supporting her old amdram group - aw!) and I spilt my pint down her. The lovely lass apologised to me - even though she was the one who got soaked. What a star!

Of course Ethel 'As a lodger' but the scriptwriters are going to have a field day with this story line.
They've got to have something waiting in the wings now the Gail and David story line is coming to a close.

and how old is Audrey anyway? Gail is 52, Audrey must have been a child bride......

Gail was Audrey's illegitimate child, which is why she is so supportive of Sarah having got knocked up herself. Talk about runs in families.
