I think he used to think he was some sort of bad-ass, but now I think he realises that people think he is an idiot but it is in his favour (ker-ching wise) to keep it up and so plays on it a lot.
I went to see Eminem (don't laugh) a few years ago at MK Superbowl and Westwood was supposed to be warming up the crowd but people were just groaning. He is cringeworthy, older than my dad yet acts more like Ali G than my yonger brothers.

Argghhhh!!! No I can't stand him!! He is soo annoying, and I can't watch Pimp my Ride UK without wanting to eat the tv just to shut him up.
He was on RadioOne in the daytime on monday and I couldn't understand what the flip he was saying. He speaks dodgy 'gangsta' in a really soft voice. Ridiculous!!!!

I do admire his commitment to black music, which he has consistently championed for years against a (receeding) tide of predjudice and indifference but ...
what I can't do with is the way he talks loads, but says absoultey nothing at all!
When you hear him onconversation with rappers, they are all deep into street-speak, which sounds ludicrously false in a middle-forties son of a bishop - and they say absolutely nothing of interest at all, it's a triumph of style over substance, which coincidentally sums up the styles of music Westwood plays.
Of course, the answer is not to listen - which of course, I don't, except for odd thirty-second bursts in the car, which is all I can ever stand.
