Travel disappointments

Ever looked forward to a major holiday and been totally let down upon getting there?

Was the hotel pants?
The company rubbish?
Or were your expectations too high?

Well I was totally disappointed on my first ever holiday abroad , was to Rhodes
On day 3 they had the worst storms in 50 years, 9 folk in the resort were killed, had to walk thro floods of bl00dy sewage, no power and the loo's were bad enough before the storm. We couldnt get home early n had to stay there for 2 weeks lol
No amount of research could prepare for that.

The first and only time I went to Lloret de Mar, I thought it was a dreadful place. Mind you, I was young and it wasn't me who booked the trip.

Good evening snappdachman, mine wasn't a major holiday as such but guess expectations were too high and it was our own fault. Hubby is self employed, he'd had a particularly good Christmas and we decided we could afford a last minute cheap bargain, so unexpected and a real treat. We took a chance with allocation on arrival, heard so many happy stories, I was so disappointed, we ended up in Tenbel, Tenerife. Location and hotel were both poor, swore Id never take a chance again.
