Is there any free software available that will burn a ren coded .avi file to a DVD? The file presently on the PC is in this format and is a film download.
Nero is not installed on the computer and I can't get a copy at short notice. Is there something else that could be used?

Many thanks.

I should have added that I preferably want to play the movie on a DVD player.
I'd be very grateful if someone could take me through the steps necessary to do this.

you may try Movavi Video Suite, this software can convert AVI video to DVD format and help you burn to blank DVD disk, very easy to use and works perfect for me, here is a guide about it
