Becoming an architect
5 Answers
I am soon to be leaving the Army, qualified as a design draughtsman class one, with an ONC/HNC in building studies and various Autocad qualifications. I wish to progress towards being an architect but cannot attend university full time as I have a mortgage. Are there any other routes I can take? Thank you in advance.

As I read that information, you're going to have to study for a degree. As you can't do that full-time, you need to seek an appropriate part-time course. To do so, start here:

If you decide that you won't be able to train as an architect, you might want to consider seeing if a career as an architectural technician/technologist would be more practical:

Hi mikomi, I was in a similar situation but wanting to be a planner rather than an architect, and managed to get a job where my employer sponsors the cost of the uni course and gives me one day a week off to attend lectures. I have to study in my own time but its only a two week course, a small price to pay to have someone pay for the course as well as a salary, and get a job at the end of it!
