Not at first unless they have lived in harmony before. Most dogs will sniff or chase a cat but believe me when the cat turns & scratches the dogs nose  the dog soon learns to keep his distance. the cat will eventually  approach the dog in its own time & even lie togather in warm areas but it is a good idea to ensure that the cat has a high place to retreat to so it will not feel threatened. It worked for me several times so  you have nothing to lose by giving it a try & the best of luck. Remember perseverance usually pays off in the end.  Spinner.
