Does anyone know what that advert is all about with regards to the dog (who alternates between looking terrified and trembling like a plate of jelly to mouthing the words of a song in the passenger seat of the car) can't remember what the car is but the song playing is that "Im a man ,yes I am and I can't help but love you so"

The idea came from that feeling you get when youre in the shower. Youre relaxed, you dont have a care in the world and, regardless of your ability, you can feel free to belt out any song that comes to mind. This is how it feels to drive around in the safety of the Polo.

Thanks nig, I thought it more than likely to be some sort of special effects technique (for one Im sure the animal rights brigade would be jumping up and down otherwise) but it just looked so real, everything about the dogs appearance looked like it was genuinely afraid (its tail between its legs and the position of its ears). I just needed to be re-assured that it could be done by special effects. Cheers. Still don't like watching it though and it certainly doesn't make me feel like buying a Polo.
All to sell a friggin car, I wonder how many people did find it funny? and how many folks who were planning to buy a new car actually felt like going to buy a Polo? Im not aversed to animals being used in advertisements and there are many humorous ones that make you smile, but that particular one just isn't funny.
On a commercials set there at least 2 dog handlers and an independent vet...The well being of the animal is paramount to the agency. So I doubt very much if the dog was subjected to any cold treatment..I was involved in the shooting of a banner ad for this client who told me how the tremble was achieved..They take animal welfare very seriously
