Is my emergency gan of petrol still effective, or dangerous?

Hve just realised that the emergency gallon container of petrol I keep in my car boot is probably more than three years old since I've never had a running out of petrol emergency.

Can I still use it in my petrol tank? Or has it lost a lot of its properties over this time? I'm concerned it might damage my fuel system. If I don't use it in my car, could it be used in the lawn mower?

i wouldent use it,petrol has a use by date and 3 yrs is too long.

If I can't use it, what's the best way of disosing of it? I obviously can't just tip it down the drains.

I would just mix it in with a full tank of fuel.
Say 1 part in 20 ....
Dont see any issues with using it this way.

It would be OK for the lownmower, or even the can put it in your can, but mixing with a full tank of fuel would be better. Over time it would loose its cold start properties and possibly some octane number.
