Laural and Hardy

Can anyone tell me the name of the episode where Laural and Hardy get drunk drinking from the well?

I thought it was Way Out West. I've bought a copy and it isn't the one.

If it's the one where smugglers have hidden whisky (or moonshine or some sort of alcohol) in a well, then it's Them Thar Hills.

L & H have gone on holiday in the mountains because Hardy has gout and it is meant to be a cure.

There films are still great despite being 70 years old. They were so funny without ever being crude. And the films provide a fascinating insight into life in the States in the 20s/30s/40s

My favourite is Bonnie Scotland,it creases me every time i watch it.

Do yourself a big favour, wineoh and treat yourself to the box set of dvds. There are 21 dvds in total comprising full length features and shorts (including 'Them Thar Hills'). You also get the option of watching them in (artificial) colour, which I have to say that once you get used to them are really very good. You can also watch them in B&W, plus there are deleted scenes and foreign language films. Amazingly, instead of overdubbing the existing films in Spanish (eg.), they completely remade the films with L&H speaking in Spanish, parrot fashion. I shopped around for a bit and found them online from Amazon for 30 quid, which was a bargain, but probably the best �30 I ever spent. Think about it, just over a pound a disc for probably the finest comedy ever. There is something timeless and inexplicably funny about the way L&H look to camera that make me laugh every time I watch them. I've got 2 daughters (6 & 10) and they absolutely love them.

BTW. I'm suffering an attack of gout at the moment and it ain't no laughing matter, although it does allow me a level of empathy with Mr. Hardy. "Nuts and eggs!!!"

Just to add I got Them Thar Hills and 8 or 9 other Laurel and Hardy DVD's for a quid each at my local Poundland!

I have been buying 3 for �10 L&H dvds from Matalan. We have 9 now. I bought Them Thar Hills last night from Amazon for �1.04!!!!!!
I think I will be using Amazon again.
