Can you help with this please? An Italian friend of mine is retiring next week, and I want to put on his card, in Italian: Wishing you a long and happy retirement. Can you help please? Thank you.

I'm not fluent but this is what i would say to my partners father when he retires

"Desiderare lei una pensione lunga e felice"

I assumed you didn't want 'can you help please' included in the translation!! lol
Or, alternately, "Augurarvi una lunga e felice pensionamento".... We wish you... becomes "augurare", while I wish you becomes "auguro"...
Yeah sorry I am picking.....

pensionamento, I notice has a masc ending, and
una lunga e felice is feminine

googling pensionamento, I get:

pensionamento - Wiktionarypensionamento m. (plural pensionamenti). retirement. [edit] Related terms. pensione. Retrieved from "http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pensionamento" ...
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pensionamento - 13k

anything else - I always thought long in It. was longo and not lungo, but hell you knnow it was twenty years ago.
