were you parked illegally?
I am a bit baffled here... what has the misspelling of the road name got to do with the fact that someone was illegally parked on that road ? Do you mean it was actually a different road ?

Yes , I was parked illegally whilst unloading from my van . The road name that I was parked in is spelt LYNE but on the actual ticket is spelt LYNN .
Short answer is no.

A few years ago yes, as appeals would have been dealt with at Magistrates, and this would probably have been an abuse of process.

But now parking offences are decriminalised and the law states minor deviations of process will be allowed.

The only grounds for appeal will be an actual mistake on the code issued.
you can appeal any parking ticket for whaever you want but they are very rarely upheld.
Just pay it lol
appeal against it.
if there is an administrative error or issuing error the ticket is invalide. you can't be fined for parking in a street that doesn't exsist!
make sure you send you letter in before the fourteen days and you will be ok.
abdul, the tickets have to be spot on to be legal.
david, something like 70% of appealed tickets in london are dropped.
allways appeal straight away, 'cos you never know if they are going to drop it anyway and you save your dosh.
if you just pay up then you have definately lost you cash.
i've had them through the post and asked to see the video evidence. ( i know i wasn't illegaly parked ) after eight weeks the robbers phoned and said they were dropping it. i asked to see the video that could have cost me 120 but they wouldn't let me. i told them they were thieves. if i hadn't asked to see the video & just paid up i would have lost me dosh!!
Minor typographical errors like this can be corrected under the 'slip rule'.
That is the law.

You appeal and you will end up paying much more.
why would you end up paying more??they cant just increase it on the basis you appeal!!! most parking companys will allow you to pay a discounted rate within the first 14 days. if you appeal and are unsuccesful in this period providing the 14 days has not elapsed then you still have the option of paying at the discounted rate. after 14 days it usually increases by 50%. this is standard with most of them as i say iresepective of whether you appeal or not.
It depends who issued it, David - if it is a police issued FPN, then the appeal can go to magistrates' court, with court costs if you lose.

So you pay more.
