Removing Pergo

I have Pergo Original flooring that is glued at the seams...and I need to replace part of the flooring, any suggestions on how to do this?

You will need to "lift" the edge of the flooring nearest the section you wish to remove.  The edge is covered either by what we in the U.S. call mop board (I think it's called "skirting" in UK) or a quarter round attached to the mop board.  At the seams of the actual flooring, use an adjustable "box cutter" knife to score the seams.  Adjust the blade depth just far enough to cut the glue, not so far as to do damage to the flooring tongue.  The flooring seam is generally in an "S" shape. This will require pulling it apart horizontally as well as putting some upward and downward motion. I've removed flooring such as this and it's not as difficult as I have probably made it sound.  When you have completed the re-construction, but before reinstalling the floor, you should put down new soundproofing material.  It's inexpensive and easily installed.  When you reinstall the quarter round or "skirting" be sure that it doesn't rest directly on top of the flooring.  This will allow proper expansion due to temperature changes. Remember, you should have about 1/4 inch gap between the flooring and the wall. The flooring is considered a "floating" floor.
