Engine cut out on Ford Focus

I have a 51 plate Ford Focus TDCi estate bought in January this year. Yesterday the engine cut out just as I was going around a bend. I have seen answers saying different things such as speed indicator, fuel filter etc. does anybody have the answer. This could have been very dangerous at any other time of the day and I am planning on a touring holiday in a couple of months. What do Ford have to say?
