Have you considered using rubbing on a bit of baby oil? I have found this best when there are dry patches on a newborn. Ive not used in on the forehead but used it on both mine where they ahd dry patches on their ankles, feet and wrists.
Hello again - vaseline is used in the morning after getting him dressed and washed. I have taken him to baby massage a few weeks ago and someone suggested basic cooking oil which is what they used to massage them with - just doesnt seem to be doing anything. Was going to try E45 but not sure if that is harsh or not.
Maybe I will leave it another week using oil and see if anything changes before taking him the doctors.
Try Johnson's baby naturals intense moisture cream, my son was born 10 days late and had very dry skin, i found this brilliant and it smells nice too.x
I had a dry patch on my face and went to the chemist told him I was using vaseline. He said he hates vaseline as it does not allow the skin to breathe and suggested aqueous cream.
My young son has eczema, and lots of dry patches on his skin. My GP gave us Doublebase to put on and it is brilliant. (He also has steroid cream, but that is just for the eczema) I was told not to use E45 as it is too harsh for babies. If you have tried a few options, I would speak to your GP or Health Visitor, to see what they recommend. Good luck, hope you get it sorted soon.
try dermol cream- green tub. my son uses it for his eczema. u can use it as a soap substitute. we also use oilatum for bubble bath and doublebase as a moisturiser. he sees a dermatologist who advised to only let him have a SHOWER once a week ( altho i do wash him more often than that!) good luck
