MM Links Solutions April 2008 [Week 1]

This first week in the reign of Lady Lysander hit a slight glitch with the gremlins ~ but the launch went out exactly on time. You need to know that Lady Lysander was blameless and next week should go like clockwork! As for this week, I now reveal the chosen links were:

Silver BIRCH
DINNER Plate
FIBRE Glass
WINDOW Box

Several of these links held out for a little while, but all eventually succumbed to the inventiveness of the regulars!

The easiest to spot was DINNER PLATE which fell at the first hurdle when sarumite was first to rise to the challenge to claim TWO POINTS. He was followed within the two-minute window by both burgess & slaney to qualify for the same bonus points. In fact, slaney made a double kill with SILVER BIRCH as well! This brought her FOUR POINTS and with them the title of �Hot Shot of the Week�!

Also qualifying for bonus points for �Silver Birch� was beejay as Entrant #14 timed at 09.04. In fact, we had over two dozen entries within ten minutes of the launch! The final two links fell within the hour when FoxLee spotted FIBRE GLASS as Entrant #30 (at 09.18am). Business had been brisk!

Shortly after, kettledrum reacted to Lady Lysander�s confessed weakness for flower baskets and picked off WINDOW BOX for the last Link Word. Beyond this point, single hits trickled in as the hours ticked past and bring a reasonably successful first game to a gentle close.


The League Table after this first week is:

FOUR POINTS: slaney
TWO POINTS: beejay, burgess, FoxLee, kettledrum & sarumite
ONE POINT: AllyLally, bridgenut, Chiefpanda, ChrisHewat, Dustybun, keyboardix, Mr Ontice, patchett

Next week, there will be everything to play for ~ and the gremlins will be sorted out!
Well done slaney! I know that you�ll try your damnedest to stay there!

Rats, I get nothing - that is zero, nix, zilch - I am seriously miffed by Lady L - all this smoke and mirrors - I was seriously detoured by the "hints".
So does Lady Lysander drive a fibre-glass car and park it under a silver birch tree whilst eating her ham and pease pudding stottie off a dinner plate whilst looking at Lindisfarne Castle from Bamburgh beach through the Window Box hanging off her car window?!!!!
Another week, another failure..........

Wowwee!! Points ! Thanks Lady Lysander for a very heavy clue that most surprisingly no-one else picked up on. Because of the very silly way I play this game (all my own fault) I very rarely get points because I like to have all 4 links that no-one else has chosen. Just occasionally I will deviate from this norm: usually if I can't think of anything original, or if the vibes are so strong that I really have to go for it. Window box might have been one such as these, but fortunately I got there first!

congratulations Slaney..... and all the other scorers......my usual nil points again.
