shiksa is a non-Jewish woman...goy is another word for a non-Jew...giving "goofy" - of in the middle being measuring , per Chambers

That means that 5d is BY**** -probably two words as Azed does not indicate number of words only total letters.

The subsidiary solves as "by for m", as putting by instead of m in Tom gives you Toby - a change of name. Don't know if Azed is the only setter who uses this type of clue - he does it sometimes with words that have 'as' in the middle as well.
