Had tonsilitus 2 weeks ago then the other day i was struggling to breathe. Thought not much of it as i smoke. Yesterday it happened again and i could not swallow properly. Looked at my throat and my tonsils are covered in pus blebs. My throat is nearly closed off yet i have no pains, only a slight fever and unable to breathe and swallow to full potential. Im due at the docs in 25 min does it sound like tonsilitus? my mum says its glandular fever? ive had this before and last time i was admitted to hospital but that was 5 years ago! And also last night i fell off my horse. When i say fall i do not know how i havent broken anything! my neck arm back leg is in agnony yet no cuts or bruises strugglin to walk and move and i think ive broken my finger should i mention that to the doc to? xx

My money goes on your Mum's diagnosis of Glandular fever.
Good luck and nice one MUM.
It sounds like tonsilitis, or maybe quinsy (which I had a couple of weeks back). I had glandula fever and had no puss on my tonsils. You have some kind of strep infection by the sounds of it.
Glandular fever doesn't usually involve the tonsils at all as the glands are much further down under the jawline and below the ears. It could be quinsy as goodsoulette has said but that is usually a very large cyst like thing filled with pus, there is commonly only one and they are very painful. My daughter had quinsy and glandular fever at the same time when she was 16 and she ended up spending 9 days in hospital in isolation as it made her very ill,her liver swelled up and she turned yellow.I hope you manage to find some treatment for it,i'd be interested to know what your doctor diagnoses(i'm nosey like that).
"Slight pain and no fever" definately not quinsy, which is extremely painful and marked fever. Agree that Glandular fever is not "pussy" but commonest presentation IS sore throat. Still back Glandular fever.
I had quinsy less than a month ago and I walked myself down to the doctors and felt no worse than I did with tonisilitis. Not everyone is a textbook case.
If she has got glandular fever then the puss on the tonsils isnt a typical symptom and neither is catching it twice.
You need shooting!
Take your point Goodsoulette, but Quinsy is always one sided...both tonsils NEVER affected at the same time. Possible to get GF twice but unusual. Pus on both tonsils does rule out GF.What does Myriad 2112 mean and to whom is she addressing?
Us?... or possibly ilson, for being poorly?

Together sqad, you and I are just like the medical team on house. We'll be diagnosing mystery lumps on feet next. I'm voting verrucca!
Yes, myriad is a bit confusing isn't she. We may be the in-house medical team but I wonder how correct we are?LOL
Nobody cares anyway, that is the bottom line.
Nice name is Goodsoulette, presumably a female becuase of -ette ending?? Take care.
10 points for you. Indeed because of being female and the first part is just my favourite song.
