angel - How annoying is that!!! I usually say to them, your welcome! Also, another trick is when they have done it a few times to you, the next time delibereatly stop in front of them so they can see you & let them walk through first! They will walk away puzzled, keep doing it till they have to ask you why! xxx
Manners cost nothing do the? I always try and be polite.
Yesterday I was walking through Kings Cross underground at rush hour and a guy was walking diagonally across me. I paused slightly to let him pass but in that split second he changed directions to walk round me. But then he muttered "excuse me!" under his breath as if I had been rude. I was mortified and considered running after him to say that I didn't mean to be impolite!
If i come across someone like this i usually try and make them look and feel as stupid as possible by shouting so everyone else can hear 'where you manners you stuck up idiot' or something along those lines lol..
It is a pain. As said it doesn't take a moment to say thank you does it.
My pet hate is people who can't be bothered to use their indicator at a turning or on a roundabout.
It takes a plit second to move your hand to that indicator lever. Its just plain lazy.
It's sad, everyone, that some people just have no awareness of anyone around them, isn't it? It really frustrates me. I don't think it hurts to consider others in your life, even if you don't know them. Everyone would be just that little happier, and everyone's day would be just that bit sunnier, if people stopped and thought about their actions.
I know exactly how you feel angel-cake - you hold a door open for someone and they just breeze on through, totally ignoring you.... I usually say (loudly) something like, "Oh, thank you so much"...
And as for roundabouts.... don't get me started... (J joins Tigerlily's *annoyed club*).. As the others have stated, manners actually don't cost anything, nor do they really involve much effort, just a little *THINKING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE* rather than being selfish and only caring about No 1....
Drivers manner are even worse, I live at the top of a hill and the road is very narrow with cars parked on both sides, I always pull over for cars coming up the hill, but when I am coming up it is very rare that anyone lets me through. If anyone does let me through I always acknowledge them but the other way round and they drive past me without so much as a glance.
Knobby, what was that apparently random sequence of utterances intended to convey?
I'm with you, Angel, it is pity that courtious behaviour has disappeared from so many areas of society.
Back to basics I say, or have I heard that one before somewhere?
