Slingbox Pro
3 Answers
I've just bought a Slingbox Pro and am having trouble connecting it to my broadband.
I've only got a Netgear modem router 632 which doesn't seem to have a spare ethernet port (it just has the one I'm using for my home computer).
Therefore I'm planning to buy a new router and will need some extra long ethernet cable to run through into my lounge (where I will have the Slingbox attached to my Sky box).
However should I buy a normal wired router or a wireless one? Would a wireless one allow me to have the router in the lounge (rather than my study) and therefore not have a problem linking to the Skybox.?
What do you think I should do before I spend more money getting this to work?

The cheapest option is to get an Ethernet Switch, PC world have got them at 12.99 and split the connection off the back of your existing router with a short Ethernet lead.
Get your Ethernet cable from Maplin or suchlike and run the cable into the lounge to the Slingbox next to your TV.
