Surely the main plot is the easy bit to remember? I think its mainly the detail that makes it an enjoyable read so you need to keep a record of that. I've got a series of books in my head and write stuff down all the time.

yeah i suppose, its quite complex though! >_< but as you said its the detail that makes it enjoyable! ^^ so would the best idea be to jot stuff down??

thankiez, chrissie ^^
Of course! JK Rowling may have had the plot in her head for Harry Potter but she has admitted to using Harry Potter internet fan sites to check some of the detail of the later books.

Funnily enough she is now suing one of them as they are planning to turn the site into a reference book.

^_^ thanks, okay! i will do that, hopefully it'll do well by the time i've finished it! (even though its probarbly going to take 3 years to get it down on paper!) ^^

OMG shes suing one of the fan websites!
XD i don't know why! ^_^ yeah thank you for the advice so much! it really helps!
I'll tell you what I tell anyone asking similar questions - write it, right now! If, when you've done it, it's rubbish, well, you can rewrite, edit and change things as much as you need. The main thing is, your ideas are there.

What I tend do with a new idea is to get it down in a very detailed outline - he says, she says, they do this, then that happens etc. Then I begin to write. Now and again I go back to that original outline and find ways to change it, or new twists will come to mind as I write.

JKR? Nothing surprises me where that woman's concerned. I promise you all when (if) I ever become that famous as an author, I will grant a personal interview to the first ABer who sets up a fan site. There! Now you have it in writing!
where to start? with a pencil and paper. Sounds silly, but the best way to start writing is to start writing. It doesn't have to be the final version, just get your ideas down on paper (or screen, of course) somewhere where you can read them and remind your self how far you've got.

Write the book
a story must have a start, middle and then end.
to draw attention and keep the reader intrested something must happen at the start.
