Weird margins on windows desktop!

Hi
I installed Tomb Raider on my laptop and now i have finished playing, i went back to the Desktop and there are now margins on my screen of about an inch each. Meaning my screen has shrunk! how can i sort this out?
sorry if this doesnt make sense, im having trouble explaining it!

Right click on your desktop and from the menu chose Properties.
On the Display Properties window chose Settings.
Move the "screen resolution" arrow up and down till your desktop "fits".
You can probably look in the documentation that came with your laptop to find the correct settings for your desktop.

The resolution that may be right for your laptop depends if you have a "normal" shaped screen or a widescreen screen.
For a "normal" screen then resolutions like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 or maybe 1280 x 1024 are most likely.
For a widescreen then 1280 x 800 or 1440 x 900 are more likely.
You will have to play around until you find the correct one.
