reducing the bit rate of music files

is there any way that i would be able to reduce the bit rate of some of my music files. some music which i hae downloaded is 320kb/s, which makes every song take up lots of disk space.

Anyway, on later versions they had were were called MP3pro which kept the same quality but had files half the size. They also had a conversion programme to reduce existing tracks you had. Having said all that, it may be that this was only available on the paid for version, and of course, if they don't exist any more, then you can't really pay them.

this is free resampler ... easy to use ... and has a batch mode ... so just set and forget
